Speaking solely on my own behalf, I'm personally having a difficult time understanding and accepting the mindset of our community (SWLA) when it comes to progress. Obviously I'm not referring to those who are proactive and working toward a brighter future. At what point do those of us that understand that progress is needed and who want to explore alternative options to fix and improve what's apparently broken stand up and make positive and progressive change happen? We can talk and complain all day, but it's not effective.
I choose to live here because I see our potential and care about our area's future including the people that make this area what it is and refuse to let the stale and negative mentalities overcrowd the air. It's a mindset change that SWLA needs. I'm praying it comes sooner rather than later because if it doesn't, I believe we would all dislike seeing even more examples of what should have been done differently. I hope that at the end of the day everyone knows that I am wanting us to move forward and work daily to encourage and support others so that they too can see the bigger picture or at least a portion of it.
This is posted with hopes that whoever reads it will be more observant, step outside their typical mindset, feel empowered, rejuvenated and evaluate where we are, where we should go next and what you can do to help get us there as a community. I choose not to work selfishly and alone because the only person that would benefit would be me. I'm not about me, I am about community. For those of you who have already given up and/or just accept our current situation, please disregard this message and allow those who want to make the most of opportunity and utilize their ambition to do so. - Bray J #newmindset #swlaprogress #positiveswla
